Latin American and Latin Canadian artists address the interconnectedness between cultures and their related cultural issues. The development of cultural syncretism figures dominantly in these artist’s work. It reflects the merging of different worlds, which encompasses past and present while being deeply imbued in today’s world and circumstances. These artists explore the complexities of multiple worlds, the inter relation of the natural and the fantastic, the dynamics of loss, belonging and identity in the context of a transnational urban environment.
